Remembrance Week Oldham Building Projection

By draping a 200 foot highwall of poppies across Oldham Civic Centre to commemorate Remembrance week, EMF helped Oldham Council offer support for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and to show their respect for those who have given, and continue to give, their lives for the peace and security we enjoy today.

The dramatic projection, a first on this scale for the North West of Enland, employed six 7000w Xenon projectors with specially produced slidework, beaming from custom designed secure locations, the projection was visible between 4pm and midnight for seven nights.

Jim Beam Outdoor Projection Marketing Campaign

Blackpool Illuminations RomanTableau

EMF TECHNOLOGY were back in Blackpool for the Fire and Water tableau refit, ensuring everything was in order for the onset of this years illuminations. Each huge roman gladiator head has been fitted with EMF’s flame failure system to ensure consistent burning throughout the winter, and 3 intricate water fountains are installed to finish off the tableau.

‘The Dark Knight’ Batman Premier arrived in style at Leicester Square with EMF supplying 2 Vulcan Flame Gothic columns to welcome the stars followed by 6 DMX Fire Storm flames shooting 5 metre flames into the air from the balcony for the hundreds of fans and stars as they walked down the red carpet – with a grand finale the Batmobile fired up with EMF’s Co2 and ‘wowed’ the crowd.

Blackpool illuminations - Ship wreck projection.

Blackpool’s latest attraction was projected upon as a final farewell by EMF’s large scale projection team. The stricken ferry Riverdance has brought thousands of people to the coastline of Blackpool since it ran aground in February and with just hours till the salvage teams removed the ship EMF used 2 7KW large scale xenon projectors to reach the ship 300 meters out to sea.

RNID Projection onto Houses of Parliament

Every year deaf awareness week gives the chance to raise awareness, in London this year EMF was asked to supply the projection of the charity’s logo projected on to the Palace of Westminster and the sound of Big Ben's chimes projected in the words "Bong, Bong Bong" down the side of St Stephen's tower to encourage people to imagine a world without sound during this year's Deaf Awareness Week.

EMF Technology Ltd was given full permission by the Houses of Parliament and the Metropolitan Police to stage this massive outdoor building projection.

April 2008 saw EMF’s continued investment within the large format projection market with the acquisition of further 7KW HARDWARE FOR XENON OLS Projectors fitted with Universal Digital Control (UDC) allowing for fine control of dissolves, fading, slide changing and scroller movement via PC or DMX 512.

SC4 Welsh National TV Promotional Projection, Cardiff.

March saw EMF returning to Cardiff again after SC4 TV contracted our large scale building projection service to project Fifty-foot images of Alys Thomas and Ryland Teifi, two of the stars of city drama, Caerdydd, onto the Atradius  the images covered the full height of one side of the building as part of a new campaign to promote the latest landmark series.

Large scale projection specialists EMF were contracted to supply an advertising building projection campaign upon the Cobden Building, London for the Jameson whiskey promotional party which made for a very successful entrance on the night. Supplying a 7KW Xenon slide projector to colour wash the building, 2x large scale data digital video projectors for branding along with VT mix and 2x smaller 1200w colour Gobo projectors for animated projected images.

Westminster Methodist Hall were host to the Vietnamese Trade event of 2008, with visiting heads of state arriving for the Anglo- Vietnamese relations- a huge building data video projection of both the Union Jack and the Vietnamese National Flag images were waiting as a special welcome.

Blackpool Illuminations Building Projections.

Our good friends at Blackpool Illuminations commissioned EMF to create a huge building projection at the fantastic seaside town for the coming 2008 season. To ensure everyone saw it 2 of our brand new “just in stock”, 8KW Space Cannon Search lights were used to create two massive moving beams of colour changing light along with 1x 7KW large format slide projector and 2x 10,000 ANSI lumens doubled Digital Data video projectors on short throw lenses.

Cardiff University 125th Anniversary.

Cardiff University launched their 125th year with a special celebration event that started with 9-days of huge building projections across the front of the University then followed on with a special presentation with guest speaker Neil Kinnock to celebrate past and present achievements of the University.
EMF supplied 4 x doubled Hardware for Xenon slide projectors for building projection. Internally EMF supplied 1KW PA and 52 inch plasma screens presentation package.

INTEL Building Projections across the Thames, London.

INTEL were bringing festive large scale projection advertising systems for the celebrations at the Intel Christmas Party –Displaying multiple images using our DMX controlled Automatic Slide Changers and doubled 7KW Xenon projectors. This “Mother” of all slide shows was to be seen by the guests at the Tate Gallery across the Thames to the Victoria Embankment. The red carpet has been busy again this year – we were back again along with hundreds of film fans for the long awaited ‘The Golden Compass’ Film Premier.  EMF’s Film Premier Specialists pulled out all the stops to make this a flametastic premier supplying green and Gothic flame effects to welcome Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig and all the stars at London’s Leicester Square.

Once the nights start coming in you know its time to get ready for Christmas with a festive skate at prestigious Somerset House Ice Rink.  This year EMF supplied again 10 warming flambé round the ice rink each system is supplied with remote gas sensing ensuring all Flambes burn successfully into the New Year.  These are fed by two gigantic propane tanks with extensive propane pipe network all fitted by EMF’s dedicated team of technicians.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Film Premier.

Harry Potter and the Ministry of Magic was recreated at Leicester Square for the arrival of the Death Eaters appearing at The Order of the Phoenix Premier. EMF supplied the green flames and smoke effect in the fireplaces that the wizards transported through to arrive at Leicester Square for the next exciting new film in the Harry Potter saga …

Warwick Castle - MITIE event

A super wet Warwick Castle was the venue for this year’s MITIE Summer Party, but the Flambes made a stunning entrance despite the weather!  The event was completed with a Waterwall effect and a fantastic Vulcan fire show.

Spiderman 3 had EMF climbing walls!

Providing a large scale projection for the after premiere party in London, using a 86,000 lumens xenon projector, EMF turned the lodge’s front door in to a massive spiders laird and logo, so the stars knew where to go!

Flames were the order of the day for a Chichester Theatre Production and the EMF team were only too happy to help. Supplying 10 x 7fth outdoor Flambés, equipped with EMF’s approved safety devices, an EMF team member was on site at all times to make sure that the Flambés burned brightly to help guide the famous face’s in from the cold.

“Arrest The Presidents”! At Battersea Power Station, London.

Working in conjunction with CMT, a long distance Monumental Xenon Slide Projection on to the famous façade that is Battersea Power Station launched The Elusive’s new single, “Arrest The Presidents”. EMF Technology Ltd’s renowned Large Format mobile projection system blasted this one 200m across the Thames on to the 50m square wall.

ITV - Dancing on Ice Final.

EMF turned up the heat for the famous ice cool duo, Torvill and Dean. The propane fuelled ‘Firestorm’ system was employed to add that extra special effect for the finale – 8 flame heads in all surrounded the ice rink while the skaters wove their way round in front of the live audience.

X Factor Tour, Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle.

The X-FACTOR Tour began its road trip around the UK starting with Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena. And the EMF Team were on hand to give the tour a custom built flaming head start.

6 x 2ft, 4ft and 6ft Flambés were custom built to burn brightly on stage while X-FACTOR winner LEONA sang away. Each Flambé was fitted with EMF’s Flame stage safety devices which were all linked to extra Emergency Stop buttons, control box and EMF Remote Gas sensing system for extra safety inside the tour venues. The gas trolley was custom built with gas manifold and controls for easy load in/out to make sure the tour had a rolling fireball of a start!

BAFTA Awards, Royal Opera house, London

Film Stars, Photographers and Autograph hunters were out in full force for this year‘s BAFTA Awards. And right behind them were the EMF team ready to light the way for the stars with their specialist Flame FX.

Rolling out along side the red carpet with 8 x , EMF were making sure the stars and audience were warmed and glowing throughout the star studded evening.

Radisson Hotel, Birmingham.

EMF’s Flame specialist team were on the road again.

This time visiting Birmingham’s Radisson Hotel for the event.
6 Flambés fitted with EMF’s flame failure device’s kept Birmingham’s Health and Safety department happy and the famous faces warm on arrival and departure!

Eragon Film Premier, Odeon, Leicester Square

The stars and maybe some dragons were out for the film premier of the dragon film ERAGON. And above it all the EMF TECHNOLOGY team, working with West Events, were there to provide a monument of flames that even a dragon would be proud of. Supplying 10 x 5mh DMX Firestorm Stage Flame System across the now familiar balconies to dazzle the stars and screaming fans below. EMF also went on to help get the after show party off to a flaming start supplying 5 x 5mh Firestorm Stage Flame Systems and 10 x 7fth Flambés at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Truly spectacular.

Somerset House, The Strand, London.

Christmas again and EMF Technology Ltd were invited back to Somerset house to provide the flames for the 10-week ice rink event.

10 x 5mh LPG Flambés were installed round the side of the ice rink. Each Flambé was fitted with EMF’s brand new remote gas sensing system to make sure the Flambés burn bright into the New Year.

Cinema Peroni, Clapham Picture House, London.

The name is EMF, EMF TECHNOLOGY.

The Cinema Peroni van was on the road again this time for the screening of the new James Bond film, Casino Royale. The Agents at EMF were there to provide lighting support for the Peroni van and large scale video Projections on the main bar using a 10k lumens projector with full video mixing equipment. A definite licence to thrill!

The Prestige Film Premier, Odeon West End, Leicester Square, London

The red carpet was once again rolled out for the big PRESTIGE Film Premier and once more, EMF’s Film Premier Specialists pulled out all the stops to make this a flametastic premier.

For the 1st time ever in Leicester Square, EMF working in close conjunction with Westminster Council's Event team allowing the use of our safety flambés fitted with flame failure and tilt valves devices.

Also supplied along the walkway were - 8 x 5mh DMX Firestorm Stage Flame Systems were on hand to warm the autograph hungry crowds and the array of stars.

Battersea Park Firework Display

For the 5th year running EMF Technology Ltd was contacted to provide the flames for one of the worlds biggest and best fireworks display this year in London’s Battersea Park. 10 x 8mh Vulcan s Stage Flame systems lit the night sky spewing flames high into the air as well as full large scale lighting design and equipment hire using 4x 6kw Dominator Sky Trackers, 16 x PAR64 – 6 lamp bars, 8 x 8 Light Blinder MOLEPHAYS, 6 x 4 cell CYC Lights, 4 X Deathstar Strobe Effects, 2 x ZR 22 Smoke Machines and full mains distribution package.

A hugely successful night going up in a bang!

Walsall, Festival Of Light – Video Waterscreen

The EMF team rolled out the big guns for the 6 week Walsall Festival of Light making sure this proved to be the best since the event began. The Team supplied their air injection 25 meter high x 35 meter wide floating waterscreens with DMX inverter start for the Walsall team to project custom artwork onto the massive water screen and using 2 x 15k lumens doubled video projectors to stun the crowds.

Thorpe Park, Staines.

The Ghouls were out in force as were the EMF TECHNOLOGY team to build and install the shock worthy flames for this year’s 6-week “Fright Nights” Halloween celebrations at Thorpe Park.

8 x 5mh Firestorm Stage Flame Systems were custom built to shock public at the entrance of the park and of the Asylum. Gothic Flambés were erected at the site of the 7 deadly sins and the rightly named Hell Gate. All systems were fitted with EMF’s DMX “Auto Run” Flame failure system to combat strict health and safety laws. SPOOKY!!

Smallbrough Hall, Norfolk.

Norfolk was the venue and the EMF flame specialist’s were the team brought in to warm up the autumn night for the party of the season. The host of stars were on hand to see EMF’s 10 x 8mh Vulcan Stage Flame System to complement a full show of lasers and fireworks spectacular.

Fortune Forum, Billingsgate, London.

For the prestigious Fortune Forum EMF TECHNOLOGY were contracted to supply 15 x Flambés to light the way for the good and the great.

All Flambés were fitted with EMF’s brand new flame failure systems to overcome health and safety regulations.

With a team member on site at all times the EMF crew made sure that the host of stars were dazzled by the flame lit view.

Fire And Water Tableau, Blackpool.

EMF TECHNOLOGY visited sunny old Blackpool again for the Fire and Water tableau.

Custom building brand new Flambés heads for the huge roman gladiator, each head was fitted with EMF’s flame failure system so the flames will burn all winter. Also 3 intricate water fountains and 1x Rain Curtain were installed to finish off the tableau.

Kerrang Awards, Barbican Brewary, London.

This year's Kerrang awards was held at Barbican SE1 for the arrival of the good, the bad and the ugly of the rock world. EMF TECHNOLOGY were on hand to supply a feast of flames to complement the outdoor freak show, wowing the crowds with 8 x 4mh Firestorm Stage Flame System. Mmmm Freaky!

”PRICELESS” Large scale Video & Large Format Slide Projections,
Natural History and V&A Museum, London.

In August EMF were contracted via The Serpentine Gallery to technically produce one of Europe’s largest open-air art galleries in the streets of South Kensington. The art treasures were brought to life with audio-visual portraits of people showcasing their personal stories about what the objects mean to them.

Precision Projections were brought together on 2x 20,000 lumen video windows with large scale masked slide artwork for building illuminations complete with 2x 7KW Xenon projectors fitted with DMX 40-way automatic slide changers and DMX controlled dissolve and cross fading. All held in sync to the audio video footage cross-fades with dedicated PC control.

Pirates of the Caribbean U.K. Premier Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square, London.

On the hottest day of the year since about 1425 EMF were on site again for the big film premiere of the season supplying 8x 4mh Destroyer stage flames and DMX Flambés for the Billingsgate after party.

Not only were the crowd swooning at the stars and the heat, but our flame operator man Steve “Jesus” Booker looks close to the edge with the sheer scale of it all!

This year’s Summer Party for the rich and famous was held at the Getty Estate with EMF supplying 10x 8m high DMX Vulcan flame throwers to accompany a 20 minute spectacular Fireworks Display.

EMF also rolled out it’s new “FIRE-WATCH” PC based control system to ensure full show timing along with intrinsic flame failure control.

Viking Festival, Isle of Man.

With more rain than you could shake a stick at for the 2006 Viking Festival, EMF was brought in to drive the clouds away with a large selection of Vulcan Flame effects and DMX Stage Flames.

Also supplying technical support for the ceremonial “torching” of the Viking Longboat with pyrotechnical and petrol detonation.

A night of spectacular fire to help ensure that this remains one of the top Viking events in the world.

ITN 6.00 pm News Bulletin, Junk Food segment.

Out of the blue came a call from the ITN news team asking if it was possible for us to arrange Outside Broadcast location, crew, school kids, and an explosive end to junk food for a news segment that was to be broadcast within 2-hours of the bin explosion for the 6.00pm evening news.

Tall order for some, but how could we decline when it’s always such fun to get the barbeque out on these summer afternoons. Not sure the Turkey Twizler’s weren’t a bit on the burnt side …

	Following a major redevelopment, London’s ROUNDHOUSE reopens with a brand new off the wall show-FUERZABRUTA. LEGOLAND’S 10 th Anniversary, Legoland, Windsor.

Unbelievably, it’s been 10-years since the opening of LEGOLAND’s Theme Park.

What better way to celebrate this event with 3-nights of multimedia special effects.

This year saw EMF and CMT working again a LEGOLAND supplying a 15m high “Vision” floating Waterscreen, Doubled 10k data video projectors, 2x CMT 40watt YAG Lasers and complete power systems, generators and logistics.

This year’s premiere party for the "soap" stars was held at Cranage Hall with EMF supplying 6-new high pressure 8MH DMX Vulcan live flame effects to welcome the guests on a cold spring evening.

Not only were the flame effects heating up but the Corrie and Eastenders got a bit punchy as well as the evening drew on! Much fun had by all…

Peroni Beer UK Launch.

After the successful London Pre-launch, EMF were invited to supply technical support services for the UK launch of PERONI beer at London’s Design Museum.

This was a star studded night of glamour and suave sophistication with even an appearance from an ex-Miss Sweden getting the Paparazzi into a full on "heads down" scrum. All of this was complemented with large scale outdoor video projection based on La Dolce Vita theme. Next on the agenda are the London mobile PERONI Cinema Projections…

EMF was on hand to help celebrate the new ownership of P&O Cruises.With EMF supplying 10-DMX gas Flambés for the after conference party, 3x Static 2-head Stage Scan Rigs and 1x 2-Head mobile Stage Scan rigs for multiple projection services around the Southampton area.

Following on from last month’s projection upon London’s CENTREPOINT tower, EMF were invited to supply Monumental Slide Projection systems again for St. Patrick’s Day.

On this occasion triple stacked 7KW Xenon projectors were used for the 30m x 30m projected image to be seen through out London’s West End. Once again- many thanks to Harmony. Stav has now settled his extras!

London’s Leicester Square saw EMF bringing in a complete custom built “Flame Lance-Work” for the Vendetta film premiere. This 5m diameter flame circle and 7m high ‘V’ DMX monster was specified to run for a duration of 2 ½ hours whilst consuming a massive 1000 litres of propane gas and keeping all the Celeb’s hot under the collar…

EMF’s Mobile large scale Projection team were brought in forthe PERONI Beer launch at London’s Portobello Road.

Utilizing 2-doubled 10,000 lumen’s Data Projectors with short throw lenses and our new video/mix playback rack allowing for video, DVD, Live camera and PC video cuts are bringing a whole new meaning to live mobile monumental projections.

Centrepoint - London.

With London’s iconic 1960’s, 120m high tower under new ownership. EMF were brought in to give the good people of London a Happy Valentines message at the busy Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street junction.

EMF brought in a 7KW Hardware Xenon from our internal stock to project a 30m x 30m image on this notoriously difficult to light building. All of this was made possible by our friends at Harmony Adult shop who allowed us to use there premises across the road from CENTREPOINT as a projection station. We’ll settle Stav’s “extras” later!

THE DARKNESS - "TO HELL AND BACK TOUR 06"

Spandex, pyrotechnics and large flame effects were the order of the day for this year’s 25-event Darkness tour.

EMF working in conjunction with Pyrojunkies were asked to supply the largest possible stage flame systems ranging from 2x 5ft high Flame-Bars- 2x 2m custom curved Flame-Bars which were all stage mounted around the drummer with flames increasing in size, animation and heat to the drum tempo!

All of the above was supported with the new Stage Flame system comprising of 4- heads, each fuelled from a massive 250 litre propane containment/expansion tank ensuring repeatable 8m high vertical flames on stage with endless pyrotechnic and Co2 Cannons effects for this fire hungry Glam Rock band.

"The Creeper" - The Playhouse Theatre, London

EMF ware once again contacted to bring a touch of light to this rather dark and sinister play set to run for 3-months in London’s West End Theatre Land. The real propane flame effects were supplied with full flame failure control designed to exceed London’s stringent fire safety and Westminster City Council’s licensing demands. All systems passing with flying colours.

Somerset House Ice Rink, Somerset House, London.

You know it’s that time of year again when the flames are arriving at Somerset House ice Rink! This year 10 of EMF’s 12 foot tall Flambes were installed into what is a yearly Event for EMF, now in its 6th year running!

This time around, each flambé has been fitted with the newly developed watchdog flame ignition and cut-off system, ensuring flames at the touch of a button, with the latest flame-failure technology!

Yet again, an extensive propane gas pipe network was installed at the rink by EMF, feeding the flames from two gigantic propane bulk tanks!

Radiance – Festival Of Light, Glasgow, Scotland.

Split over 3 exciting locations and over 3 days, the festival of light! An extravaganza of light, colour and sound, exploded onto the streets of Glasgow Scotland this November! EMF was drafted-in to provide full technical support for this mega event! Here’s the low down on what went on!

Location 1: ‘Painting with Light’

Two 7k Large Scale Xenon Projectors literally painted the Gothic building; 190 Trongate! Not with paint….. But with light! EMF created bespoke projection slides, individually tailored to the contours of the building, ensuring the whole façade was splashed with colour! Both Projectors Changed Slides simultaneously at the touch of a button a hundred metres away, thanks to EMF’s brand new Wireless DMX system!

 

Location 2: ‘Trapped’

A gigantic bug cage was created in the Old Work House building on King’s Street during the Festival of Light! EMF’s new multi-projector Vector system was employed to devastating effect! Linking 15x 2000 lumen video projectors, to create 1 single image split across 15 windows of the building, creating a dazzling spectacle never before seen on the streets of Scotland, and possibly the UK!

 

Location 3: ‘186 Human Generator’

Finally; at Merchant Square; The Human Generator! A mind boggling contraption, powered it seemed by mere humans on bicycles! A 3 Dimensional epic of a stage show was created with the aid of 4 of EMF’s new Sanyo 4000 lumen projectors! Projecting onto gauze on 4 sides of the Human Generator cube; quite frankly mind-blowing vision mixing and visuals!

Titanic – A New Musical, Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple.

After a successful run on Broadway, Titanic a new Musical was brought to the Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple! The Barnstaple Musical Comedy Society invited EMF to create a bespoke presentation programme, containing original Titanic images, to be projected onto a 4x3 metre screen, creating a backdrop through-out the 2 ½ hour production.

EMF employed a Sanyo XF45 10,000 Lumen projector, with a desktop playback system, ensuring smooth image transitions, scene after scene at the press of a button!

Battersea Park Fireworks, Battersea Park, London

EMF brought the heat to Battersea for this year’s Fireworks night Spectacular! A monster Pre-fireworks fire show, kick-started the evening with a bang!

10 DMX, 8 metre high Vulcan flames, 8, 5 metre high Destroyer flames and 6 DMX Flambes, belched flame into the chilled night air in time to the music! EMF also supplied 6, giant inflatable colour changing cones, full lighting colour wash and all on-site power distribution!

Hamley’s Toy Store Christmas Lighting Turn-on, Hamley’s, London

The turn-on of Hamley’s toy store was this year brightened-up by the EMF lighting department! A full colour wash of the shop front was implemented; making Hamley’s the brightest shop on Regents Street!

RNIB Charity Abseil, Centre Point Tower, London

The Centre point Tower in London was the scene of more large scale projection from EMF. RNIB supporter Jodie Marsh was in attendance as the RNIB invited EMF to provide projection of a selection of RNIB imagery onto the tower.

This was made possible with one of EMF’s Sanyo XF45’s, backed-up by our custom-built video switching matrix rack. EMF also contributed 3, 2k Follow spots for the abseilers, and a pumping 1k sound system to keep the crowd entertained!

Ryder Cup Gala Dinner, Citywest Country Club, Saggart, Dublin.

The Start of a year-long run-up to the 2006 Ryder Cup took place at Ireland’s premier golf and country club this month.

Dublin-based AVCOM invited EMF to the Emerald Isle to provide added punch to the proceedings, in the form of the DMX propane Destroyers, and DMX Box Style Flambes! 4 Destroyers were licking flame away into the night at the entrance of the Country club, while 4 of the Box Flambes highlighted the entrance to the Conference centre.

A grand touch to a grand affair!

The Mayor’s Thames Festival, Jubilee Gardens, London.

THE Water screen event of the year was held this September on the Thames to mark the culmination of the Mayor’s festival. EMF brought together a monumental event, witnessed by thousands of mad for it Londoners! EMF rolled out the big guns, in the form of the humungous, air injection 45 x 30 meter water screen with DMX Inverter start. Audio visual came courtesy of 3x stacked DLP BARCO R12 projectors with VT playback running full SDI digital video complete with TBC 2-second video delay. EMF also supplied a 15.000 watt Martin Audio sound System, all set on a massive 25 x 18 meter floating pontoon!

At the driving seat for the night were the Magicians of the Video Disc Jockey World: Live mixing both audio and video utilizing the newly developed, cutting-edge Pioneer DVJ-X1’s, a live audiovisual spectacular was put on the likes of which London has never seen!

BBC Family Proms in the Park ’05, Hyde Park, London

The last day of the Proms was celebrated this year with a Pop concert in Hyde Park London. The festivities played host to a number of Chart topping acts, including McFly and Jamie Cullum. EMF’s contribution to the day were 2 of our Stadium-filling CO2 Confetti Blowers! As the concert drew to a close, the EMF boys let rip, covering the Park in a carpet of blue and white confetti!

As of the 1st of September, EMF is once again moving to brand-new state of the art premises. In close proximity to our current location, the fantastic new facilities offer us the opportunity to continue to improve our range of services to our ever expanding client base with the usual high EMF standards of quality. Windsor Theatre Flaming Fireplace - Windsor Theatre Royal.

Yet again, the ever popular EMF flame effects department was put into action to deliver a flaming fireplace for the production of the Creeper! This log fire effect was so realistic it was hard to tell it was not real! Again, incorporating the brand new flame ignition and safety control system, these flames will be touring the UK, delivering 2 hours of flame night after night.

Fire and Water Tableau - Blackpool Promenade.

Fire and Water. Two of the mainstays of EMF’s technical portfolio. This time incorporated into an Ancient Roman tableau on the promenade of sunny old Blackpool. Utilising a brand new flame ignition, and safety control system, the flaming torches will be burning well into winter! Also, an intricate water fountain and rain bar system was put in place to complete the effect!

Fantastic Four Premier - Vue cinema, Leicester Square London.

Flames! Flames! Flames!! was the order of the day for the Premier of the brand new film the Fantastic Four. Covering 2 sites, in Leicester Square, EMF’s Flame effects were blazing away all evening. The first being the stage: 6 DMX Flaming Parcans above a giant LED Screen, spewing tails of fire into the sky! The cinema itself was literally ablaze with 6 DMX Firestorm Flame throwers on the lower balcony, and wait for it…….8 of the brand-new DMX propane Destroyers!! Pumping-out Massive 8 metre high ‘Mushroom clouds’ of propane, all the way to the roof of the cinema and beyond!!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince book launch, Part 2, The Reveal - Waterstones, Oxford Street, London.

Potter Mania struck the Nation’s capital on Friday 15th July as countdown to Midnight commenced! Thousands of screaming fans lined Oxford Street waiting for the shop to open its doors. At 9pm the fun and games began! At the entrance, 2 of EMF’s fabulous Flambé units were set alight, drawing gasps from the crowds. Then the sounds of a busy train station, whistles and all began blasting out of the shop courtesy of the EMF noise boys! As the countdown clock flapped ever closer to 12, the strains of Big Ben echoed out over the 1k system. At the chimes of 12, the entrance exploded in a blizzard of CO2, Confetti and light!! The curtain dropped and the Shop was open for business! From the ground-up, the Muggles at EMF supplied all elements of production from audio to programming to special effects to the lighting of the interior 2 floors for this momentous occasion!

This is what the BBC had to say:

"The atmosphere leading up to the launch was electric. There was a big countdown from 10 as Waterstone's prepared to open its doors, then there were sound effects of the Hogwart's Express!”

Henley Festival - Henley on Thames.

Champagne and water was flowing this year at the Henley Festival, as EMF brought the mother of all water screens to the river-side for this 5 day event. In conjunction with Video Maestros CMT Events, a spectacular video and laser show was put-on nightly to commemorate Lord Nelson’s victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. EMF’s gargantuan brand new air injection 45 x 30 metre water screen with DMX Inverter start was just the job for the experts at CMT Events.

Equipment supplied: 2 x 18,000 Lumen DLP Barco Projectors and 2 x 40w Yag Laser Systems. Full colour wash and profile gobo projection and on-site power distribution. Complementing this bevy of technological beauties were 2, 40 meter water cannons, arcing jets of the wet stuff into the nights sky!!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince book launch, Part 1- Waterstones, Oxford Street, London.

The countdown has begun to the launch of the most eagerly anticipated book of recent years- Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. A custom computer programme was designed to display on a huge 63” Plasma screen, simulating a train station flap-board, counting down the 15 days to Part 2- The Reveal! Liasing with set designers, EMF also supplied set lighting, and a customised smoke effect, filling the window with puffs of steam every five minutes. 15 days from now at midnight, the train to Hogwarts arrives. Watch this space……

The Lord of the dance is back with his new dance extravaganza- Celtic Tiger! The gauntlet was laid down to produce a flame effect that grew in stature as the dancing got faster during the show. Who better to meet that challenge than EMF!! A challenging, complex piece of engineering was required to produce an effect with the up-most in controllability, safety and durability, as this beauty will be touring the world! The EMF Techies yet again pulled the cat out of the bag and came up with the goods. A stunning effect that set the stage alight! A foot of flame for the feet of flames!!

Stop the Press…. There's a new kid on the block, the DMX LIQUID Co2 PAR-CAN! Custom built by the Boffins at EMF, this Co2 nozzle built into a standard Par-can, cranks out a 6 meter long jet of Co2 vapour on demand!!

EMF was born!!!!

THE film Premier of the year was the scene of yet more intergalactic antics from the EMF Jedi’s! The event was split over 2 locations, the first of which was the balcony overlooking the red carpet…..Bring on the DMX FIRESTORMS!! 8 of these units were situated either side of the main entrance, pulsing out massive 5M high propane fireballs for all six thousand screaming fans and celebs alike to marvel at! The force is strong in these boys!

The second location was the setting for the entrance of the lord of the Dark side himself: DARTH VADER! EMF’s recently released DMX FLAMING PARCANS blasting 3.5M high vertical tails of fire at the front of the stage, along with, and introducing… Fresh from the R&D department in EMF’s secret laboratory, the LIQUID DMX co2 PARS!! 8 of these 6M vapour blasting Co2 cannons spewing out a force-field like wall of co2, instantly disappearing to reveal the dark destroyer!!

VE Day, 60 th Anniversary, Trafalgar Square, London

On May 8 th 1945, Trafalgar Square was filled with joyous revellers celebrating at the end of war in Europe. 60 years on, and Trafalgar Square was filled with 40 kilos of fluttering confetti!! The newest addition to EMF's arsenal, the LIQUID Co2 POWERED CONFETTI CANNONS, were employed to blast a stunning swarm of white and blue at the finale of the BBC's commemorative party! Watch this space, these paper-pumping monsters are coming to stadium and concert venues near you soon!

ARC Fundraiser, Battersea Power Station, London

Battersea was the setting for the latest outing of the EMF Vulcans! 12 of the fire-breathing beasts were lined-up in-front of the former power station, spewing 8 metre flames into the night sky! 400 litres of diesel was consumed during the 4 hour spectacular, heating-up the guests at this charity fundraiser.

The Premier of the Aviator was lit-up in spectacular fashion when the EMF boys were let loose in Leicester square! An extensive lighting install comprising of Clay Paky stage scans, Mac 500’s and multiple 1k Parcans, ensured the cinema was lit-up for all to see! EMF provided all aspects of the install from power distribution, to intelligent lighting control.

The Somerset House ice rink was heating-up over Christmas, with 8 of EMF’s 7 foot tall FLAMBE’S! This event, now running in its 5th year, was achieved with an extensive propane gas pipeline install, ensuring the flambés were burning all night every night for 2 months! The dedicated EMF technicians liaising with local licensing officials, made sure as always, an immense spectacle, with the up most Health and Safety!
